Raquel Armendariz Sucunza is SDSN Youth's Global Coordinator at the SDSN, where she leads the program's international efforts to ensure meaningful youth engagement in sustainable development. As a communications and advocacy practitioner with global experience at leading environmental education and sustainability organizations, Raquel has demonstrated her ability to implement projects that drive positive change.

As a climate and human rights advocate passionate about environmental and sustainable action and international cooperation, Raquel uses storytelling to promote positive change and champion a prosperous and sustainable world. Her impactful articles have appeared in various international media outlets, contributing to global discourse on critical issues. In addition to her professional and academic credentials, Raquel is also a trained and certified Climate Reality Leader, a former Girl Up community leader, a member of UNESCO's SDG4 Youth and Student Network for the 2024-25 and 2026-27 cohorts, and the co-chair of the Vatican Youth Symposium, solidifying her dedication to advancing climate action, sustainability, and education.

She holds a bachelor's in international relations and a postgraduate diploma in public policy from the University of California Riverside.
