Global Launch of the Sustainable Development Report 2026: Progress, Priorities, and the Pathway Forward for 2030 and Beyond
Organizers: SDSN
Join the SDSN for the global online launch of the Sustainable Development Report 2026 (SDR 2026), its flagship annual assessment of countries’ progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report presents the latest SDG Index and Dashboards covering all UN Member States, alongside updated analysis of support for UN-based multilateralism and new survey findings on government efforts through 2030 and beyond. Taking place at a pivotal moment marked by rising geopolitical tensions, slowing SDG progress, and the lead-up to post-2030 agenda discussions in 2027, the webinar will feature key findings from the report — including its lead policy chapter on accelerating SDG implementation — followed by a high-level panel on global priorities and multilateral cooperation.
RegisterSolutionary SDG Project Showcase
Organizers: Global Schools Program and the Institute for Humane Education
Hear from Global Schools Alumni around the world as they share projects developed through the Solutionary Micro-Credential, demonstrating how students can investigate challenges in their communities, think critically about systems, and design solutions that create positive outcomes for people, animals, and the environment.
RegisterAccelerating Electrification and Renewable Energy
Organizers: SDSN, SDSN Türkiye, and SDSN Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific
The second session of the "From Science to Solutions: Mobilizing Knowledge, Partnerships and Action Ahead of COP31" webinar series will explore the scientific, policy, and infrastructure challenges of rapidly scaling global electrification and renewable energy deployment to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels and meet climate targets through effective international cooperation.
RegisterScience Day 2026
Organizers: The SDSN, International Science Council (ISC), Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
Science Day 2026 will convene the science community, policymakers, and societal actors at a critical juncture for multilateral cooperation. As the 2030 Agenda enters its final implementation phase, this HLPF side event will provide a focused space to examine how scientific knowledge is being used within multilateral processes to accelerate delivery, where it is falling short, and what is required for science-policy collaboration to remain credible and effective under current global conditions. To attend Science Day 2026, you must be registered for HLPF 2026.
RegisterAccelerating Energy System Innovation and Transition for Equity and Resilience to Advance Global Sustainable Development
Organizers: GEIDCO, Permanent Mission of China to the UN, UNDP, UNESCAP, UNESCWA, SEforALL, and SDSN
Convening energy experts, policymakers, UN agencies, and private sector leaders, this side event takes place at a critical moment for global clean energy transformation. With SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) under review at HLPF 2026 and with progress still significantly off-track, discussions will examine how climate-adaptive power systems and grid interconnection can close persistent gaps in energy access, emissions reduction, and infrastructure resilience. Participants will explore where technological innovation and multi-stakeholder partnerships are accelerating the transition, where governance and financing bottlenecks remain, and what integrated policy pathways linking energy with water, industry, and urban development are needed to drive progress across the 2030 Agenda in its final years.
RegisterData for Development: Strengthening Partnerships and Financing for the SDGs
Organizers: SDGs Today, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (UNECA), and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)
This virtual side event will explore how strengthened partnerships and innovative financing mechanisms can help transform SDG data systems into sustainable public goods that drive development outcomes. It will focus on three interconnected dimensions: (i) data production and technical capacity, (ii) improved partnerships with academia and other stakeholders at the national level, and (iii) strengthening national discourse and public debate to help ensure evidence meaningfully informs planning and SDG implementation. By convening governments, universities, multilateral institutions, and development partners, the event will identify practical pathways fostering collaboration and building resilient data ecosystems that can respond to emerging development challenges and support SDG progress.
RegisterAdvancing a Circular Economy for Climate Action
Organizers: SDSN, SDSN Türkiye, and SDSN Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific
The third session of the “From Science to Solutions: Mobilizing Knowledge, Partnerships and Action Ahead of COP31" webinar series will examine how circular economy strategies — including waste reduction, sustainable supply chains, and systemic resource management reforms — can drive scalable climate action while decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation.
RegisterClimate Finance for Impact
Organizers: SDSN, SDSN Türkiye, and SDSN Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific
The fourth and final session of the "From Science to Solutions: Mobilizing Knowledge, Partnerships and Action Ahead of COP31" webinar series will focus on scaling and aligning climate finance through improved frameworks, taxonomies, and public-private coordination to turn global commitments into credible, measurable, and investable climate transition pathways.
