The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, in collaboration with United In Diversity Foundation and SDSN Southeast Asia, will host the first SDGs Lecture of 2025, with the theme: "Indonesia's Path in Global Challenges: Shaping a Sustainable World," featuring speaker Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, President of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

In this fourth UN at Your Doorstep session, which serves as the opening to UNESCO's Learning Planet Festival, young people will have the opportunity to enter into a dynamic discussion on Quality Education with Yasmine Sherif, Executive Director of UNICEF's Education Cannot Wait, and Aya Mouallem, Founder of All Girls Code, in addition to young leaders for SDG 4. The dialogue will explore “How can education help (or hinder) humanity achieve social inclusion, peace, and environmental sustainability?” and “What lessons from history can guide us in achieving quality education for all learners today, and what are the most critical actions we must take to make this a reality?”

The reduction of global food loss and waste (FLW) is critical to addressing the triple challenge of feeding a growing world population, ensuring the livelihoods of communities and households along the agro-food supply chain, and delivering on climate and environmental sustainability commitments. This webinar will feature findings and analyses from the latest OECD policy stocktake, jointly undertaken with the FELD (Food, Environment, Land and Development) team at the SDSN. The report, entitled "Beyond food loss and waste reduction targets: translating reduction ambition into policy outcomes," will be released later this month. Cecil Haverkamp, Director of the FELD Programme, will co-chair the event and moderate a roundtable discussion.

This year’s theme, "Governing Resilient Tropical Forest Systems," will address the governance of tropical forests, critical for climate regulation, biodiversity, and livelihoods. Emma’s extensive expertise in linking biodiversity, equity, and resilience will bring invaluable insights to this important conversation.

The issue explores diverse perspectives on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), fostering critical dialogue to advance sustainable, inclusive, and evidence-based solutions. It also offers suggestions for future pathways and serves as a platform for debate on ESD priorities within the SDG framework.
