MDP Student Spotlight: Hyca Diana Paola López Bojacá

The Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) is a two-year graduate program that trains practitioners to understand, design, and manage integrated approaches to sustainable development challenges. The program equips students with critical knowledge, practical skills, and the mindset needed to drive change in both developing and developed societies.

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) is pleased to spotlight Hyca Diana Paola López Bojacá, a Leopold Bachmann Foundation (LBF) Scholar, pursuing her Master’s in Development Practice at the University of Los Andes in Colombia. We asked Hyca five questions about her journey and her experience with the Global MDP Association.

Which SDG are you most passionate about?

Gender Equality – Every time I have been denied something for being a woman, I am reminded that it is possible to break down the barriers imposed on those of us who were born biologically female. This commitment to equality is a “big brother” to environmental care and to the deep connection with every element: sie, gata, fiba, and hitcha.

What is the best part about working on your MDP degree program?

The wonder and the ability to embrace other perspectives from which to inhabit our environment.

What is something that you are proud to have accomplished while working on your current MDP degree program?

Rethinking my actions and optimizing daily practices, assessing what has been useful and renewing or transforming what has already fulfilled its cycle. Staying grounded in my roots.

How is the Leopold Bachmann Foundation helping you advance your career and aspirations?

Networks and collaboration. In togetherness, let us be part of the change and of those spaces where decisions are made by/for/with the community.

What is a fun fact about you? Something others might not know?

Keeping silent and listening are my greatest achievements in joining communication and weaving a community.
