What the Sustainable Development Goals Mean for G20 Countries
A high-level workshop ahead of G20 – Turkey 2015
November 11 and 12, 2015

On September 25, 2015, world leaders gathered at the United Nations in New York to adopt the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a 15 year agenda calling upon countries at all development states to join efforts in realizing economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection.
In the week before this year’s G20 meeting, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and SDSN Turkey (hosted by Bogaziçi University) will convene the first SDSN20 – a meeting of international sustainability academics and experts to discuss:
- Implementing and localizing the SDGs in the G20 countries
- How G20 processes can support the SDGs
- International financing & role of the private sector
- The role of youth in achieving the SDGs
The meeting will include perspective from SDSN Regional and National Network leadership from the following networks: Amazon, Brazil, Germany, Mediterranean, Sahel, Spain, and Turkey.
The SDSN20 will conclude with the signing of a Declaration for Action. SDSN20 will gather annually to promote the SDGs within the G20 processes.
