SDSN Kazakhstan Participated in the Annual Research Conference of CAREC Institute

SDSN Kazakhstan gave two presentations in the Annual Research Conference of CAREC Institute

Organized in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank Institute and Asian Development Bank, the second CAREC Institute Research Conference took place on 11-12 April 2022 on the theme “Resilience and Economic Growth in Times of High Uncertainty in CAREC Region” in a virtual mode. Its focus areas spanned from Green Economy and Sustainable Development, to Understanding Current Business Risks and Regional Cooperation, to Sustainable Agriculture and Food security.

The event also featured the launch of the CAREC Institute Annual Book and a panel discussion on the topic Revitalizing Regional Cooperation for Green, Sustainable, and Inclusive Recovery.

At the event, SDSN Kazakhstan gave two presentations. Dr. Ablay Dosmaganbetov, SDSN Kazakhstan Manager, together with Ms. Yelif Ulagpan, PhD student at the School of International and Public Affairs, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, presented a paper on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Economic Development in Kazakhstan and implications for Central Asia . Dr. Stefanos Xenarios, Associate Professor, Graduate School of Public Policy, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan presented a paper on Sustainable Land Use Resources and Food Systems in Kazakhstan and implications in the wider Central Asian region . This paper was developed with the major contribution of the FAO Partnership and Liaison Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
