SDSN Sahel Hosts First International SDGs VirtuForum
SDSN Sahel held its first international SDGs VirtuForum on December 16 - December 18, 2020. The theme of the forum was Promoting Sustainable Development in the Sahel: The contribution of African Solutions for the Post-Covid-19 Agenda 2030 implementation . It was a high-level virtual forum attended by SDSN President Jeffrey Sachs, Minister Michel Sidibe and Minister Keita Aida M'Bo from Mali; Minister Ndoye Ngoné from Senegal; and Dr. Djibril Diallo from the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN). The form also included participants from Youth Connect Africa HUB, the SDGs Center for Africa, SDSN Nigeria, SDSN Great Lakes, SDSN Kenya, SDSN Youth, and SDSN members from Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Morocco, and Togo.
Discussion during the forum focused on Sahel's Green Deal project and the commitment from the Sahel's Leadership Council and SDSN to support this initiative.
