SDSN Southeast Asia Contributes to Long Term Development Pathways Analysis for Sumedang Regency
Following the success of our previous workshop for the Local Government of Sumedang, West Java, Indonesia in collaboration with the Semai Research and Sumedang Regency, SDSN Southeast Asia is proud to announce the continuation of its partnership with the local government of Sumedang Regency.
Together, we are working to provide a comprehensive analysis of the region's development through the formulation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and long-term pathways analysis for the government of Sumedang Regency. This initiative aims to guide 26 sub-districts across 270 villages over the next 20 years towards sustainable development.
To achieve this, we have employed a multifaceted approach involving desk research, focus group discussions (FGDs), interviews, and close collaboration with the local government team. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of the region's development dynamics and challenges.
The purpose of preparing the background study for the Sumedang Regency Development Plan (RPJPD) 2025–2045 is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the initial conditions of the conditions in Sumedang Regency. The areas that are being assessed concerning the region's progress include key performance indicators such as the Poverty Rate, Human Development Index, Economic Growth Rate, Unemployment Rate, and GINI Index.
This process utilizes scientific methods and approaches to achieve strategic objectives, determine policy directions, and formulate primary development targets for the region, based on an in-depth analysis of existing conditions to accurately reflect the dynamics and challenges faced by Sumedang Regency.
Looking ahead, SDSN SEA and the Sumedang Regency Government are committed to addressing poverty as a primary focus area. Through targeted interventions and collaborative efforts, we aim to implement sustainable solutions that uplift vulnerable communities and drive inclusive development. SDSN SEA remains dedicated to supporting Sumedang Regency's sustainable development journey, and we are confident that our continued partnership will yield meaningful outcomes for the region.
