Youth Transforming Mexico
On August 12, the Transforming Youth Initiative was launched, which is a joint initiative of the Global Compact Mexico, the Civil Society organization Naj Hub, with the support of SDSN Mexico.
In Mexico, young people have a fundamental role within society, since they are agents and beneficiaries of social transformations. However, youth also face various challenges such as stigmatization and low social participation. With these challenges in mind, the Youth Transforming Mexico Initiative seeks to strengthen the skills of Mexican youth to promote sustainable development at all levels.
The Initiative’s launch event had the participation of the President of the Global Compact Mexico, Martha Herrera, as well as representatives of Naj Hub and the two co-chairs of the SDSN Mexico network, representing the Mexican academic sector.
Through two training programs, Promoters for the SDGs and Sustainable Change, Youth Transforming Mexico seeks to train 500 young Mexican men and women as agents of change and leaders in the implementation and generation of actions in favor of sustainable development nationwide.
This multi-stakeholder Initiative seeks to generate students’ networks with the necessary tools and capacities that allow them to be the leaders required to transform Mexican society.
At the end of the event, the representatives of all the participating institutions and organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to continue developing projects focused on youth and their transformation as leaders and agents of change in Mexico.

Juventudes Transformando México
El 12 de agosto pasado, se presentó la Iniciativa Juventudes Transformando México, iniciativa conjunta de Pacto Mundial México, la organización social Naj Hub y con el apoyo de SDSN México.
En México las y los jóvenes tienen un papel fundamental dentro de la sociedad, al ser agentes y beneficiarios de las transformaciones sociales. Sin embargo, la juventud también se enfrenta a diversos retos como la estigmatización y la escasa participación social. Con estos retos en mente la Iniciativa Juventudes Transformando México busca fortalecer las habilidades de las juventudes mexicanas para promover el desarrollo sostenible a todos niveles.
El evento de lanzamiento de Juventudes Transformando México conto con la participación de la Presidenta de Pacto Mundial México, Martha Herrera, así como representantes de Naj Hub y los dos co-coordinadores de la red SDSN Mexico, en representación del sector académico mexicano.
A través de dos programas de capacitación, Promotores por los ODS y Cambio Sostenible, Juventudes Transformando México busca formar a 500 jóvenes mexicanas y mexicanos como agentes de cambio y líderes en la implementación y generación de acciones a favor del desarrollo sostenible a nivel nacional.
A través de esta Iniciativa multiactor, se busca generar redes de estudiantes con herramientas y capacidades que les permitan ser las y los líderes que se requieren para transformar la sociedad mexicana.
Al finalizar el evento, las y los representantes de las diversas instituciones y organizaciones participantes firmaron un Memorándum de Entendimiento para continuar desarrollando proyectos enfocados en la juventud y en su transformación como líderes y agentes de cambio en México.
