Access to Information (ATI)

The ATI program conducts research and advocacy efforts to improve access to public information in Malaysia. With support from the Center for Independent Journalism Malaysia (CIJ), the team engaged in research on the implementation of the Freedom of Information (FOI) enactment in Selangor and derived lessons on how the wider policy and cultural environment interacts with its implementation. The team is also working with the Philippine and Australian FOI offices, paving the way for future international cooperation. Additional programmatic efforts include stakeholder engagement with the Legal Affairs Department of Malaysia's Prime Minister’s Department to push for a Right to Information bill.
