Food, Environment, Land and Development (FELD) Programme

SDSN’s FELD Program is dedicated to facilitate systematic analyses of, and action on, the policy-related and operational delivery obstacles of food and land use systems and their transformation, at global level, across and within specific countries.

Through the global FELD Action Tracker, a strategic initiative under the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU), the team undertakes systematic assessments of national policy efforts and progress against national commitments and global targets. Under the FELD Catalyst, the team works with local partners to strengthen dialogue on local priorities and solutions for improved climate adaptation, food security, and community development. Together with national SDSN member institutions and FOLU partners, FELD plans to generate further practical resources and local capacity for intersectoral planning and program implementation.

FELD’s methodologies are designed to support countries and their partners in devising, implementing, and improving effective and ambitious policies for the system-level adaptation and transformation of existing food and land-use systems and practices. The FELD team is working with partners to develop a multi-partner Nature Action Tracker to expand and link independent tracking of action on nature, food systems, and broader climate and development with the active involvement of local experts and institutions.
