Prosperity for Coffee Producers Through SDG-Based Coffee Plans
Coffee production is facing a deepening crisis, as millions of farmers across major coffee-growing regions struggle with poverty, climate change, environmental degradation, and chronic underinvestment in basic services. To address these challenges, CCSI and the SDSN developed an SDG-based Handbook that provides governments and stakeholders with practical tools to diagnose development gaps, prioritize investments, and coordinate collective action for resilient, sustainable coffee-growing communities. Tested and refined through field simulations in Brazil, Colombia, and Costa Rica, the adaptable methodology combines data collection, costing, and financing strategies to support diverse institutional and regional contexts.
