Strengthening School Feeding Programs to Improve Student Performance and Nutritional Status in Benin

This brief is part of a series released ahead of the 4th Financing for Development Conference (FfD4) in Seville, Spain. It highlights how Benin's SDG bonds contributed to tackling the country's chronic malnutrition and school repetition long-lasting challenges by funding the “National Integrated School Feeding Program” (PNASI). Between 2021 and 2023, PNASI received about $100 million from the SDG bonds resources. Thanks to this, it succeeded in enhancing the coverage rate of public schools from 32% in 2017 to 75% in 2023.
