This program includes advocacy efforts and research to restore political stability in Malaysia and advance key institutional reforms for Malaysian politics.

In 2023, Professor Wong Chin Huat organized and edited a special journal issue on the 15th Malaysia General Election, featuring six academic articles and seven op-eds centering around the implication for Malaysian studies and the democratic outcomes of the election.

Contributions include presenting a Political Financing Bill to the Parliamentary Special Select Committee (PSSC) on Human Rights, Elections, and Institutional Reforms; calling for more representative parliamentary seat allocations; and conducting workshops on reforming electoral legislation, among others.
