SDSN Chile, hosted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC) and established in 2022, mobilizes its members in Chile and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Key focus areas include an alternating webinar and podcast series to disseminate new ideas and sustainability best practices; an annual Sustainability Solutions Festival bringing together Chilean sustainable development experts and practitioners from public, private, and civil society sectors; and monitoring SDG performance at regional and local levels.

The Network's Solutions Festival Promotes SDG Innovations and Dialogue

SDSN Chile organized the 2023 Sustainable Development Solutions Festival in April 2023 at the San Joaquin campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, in Santiago, to promote dialogue between network member organizations and the university community around innovative ideas to contribute to the SDGs. It was attended by undergraduate students, professors and SDSN members to generate academic exchanges and promote the showcased solutions.

Project Generates Indicators to Measure and Evaluate SDG Challenges Subnationally

The Public Policy Institute at the Catholic University of the North, a member of SDSN Chile, developed a project throughout 2023 that seeks to generate indicators to measure and evaluate the challenges of the Antofagasta region in relation to the SDGs. It seeks to generate recommendations for the prioritization of certain SDGs through the support of experts, dialogues with key actors, citizen participation, and geo-referencing of indicators.

The Institute for Sustainable Development at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile hosted and supported SDSN Chile on three webinars, three Leadership Council meetings, three newsletters, three blogs, and one podcast throughout 2023.
